Dr.  Aadil is an experienced Geoscientist and Environmental Scientist with a focus on Earth and Environmental Systems, with particular expertise in Isotope geochemistry, Environmental geochemistry, and Hydrology. He has been actively engaged in understanding the complexities of surface-groundwater interaction, conducting geochemical studies, and Isotopic studies. He is currently a Postdoctoral Scientist at the School of Ocean and Earth Science, State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology, Tongji University, Shanghai, China. His current research primarily addresses the Late Cenozoic Weathering Process, Sedimentary Record, and the Carbon Sink Effect of the Asian Continent.

Research Interests

I am an Earth Science Researcher, with a particular interest and expertise in isotope geochemistry, environmental geochemistry, and hydrology, including estimation of nitrate sources and transformation based on stable isotopes, chemical weathering processes in the rivers based on multi isotopes (δ13C, δ34S, δ7Li, etc), biogeochemical processes, and C-S-N coupling in mountain rivers. My core research interests lie in advancing the application of non-traditional stable isotopes, validating their fractionation direction and degree, and thus their applications in tracing the mass cycle on the surficial earth, particularly, how the chemical weathering, soil erosion, and river transport shape the Earth's surface and drive biogeochemical and hydrological cycles and sustains our habitable planet.
Disciplines:
Isotope Geochemistry, Isotope Hydrology, Environmental Geochemistry, River Geochemistry, Hydrogeology, Biogeochemical Cycling, Chemical weathering processes, Paleoenvironment Reconstruction, Analysis of the ecological environment of the river basin, Hazardous (Trace) elements, Water Quality, Environmental geochemical and biogeochemical processes, Source to Sink Processes, Metal-NOM, Degradation of Humic-like substances or Organic Pollutants in Water, Fluorescence Dissolved organic matter (FDOM), and Tectonics
